AHR are often approached to modify as well as
refurbish spherical roller bearings.
Many companies are often operate under the misconception that
once a bearing has been produced it can no longer be modified
in any way. This is not true. Many modifications can be carried out
post production. To give you an idea we have listed some
typical modifications below:
- Producing taper or parallel bores
- Inner rings with extra close running accuracy (1/4 ABEC1) and marked to show high and low points of eccentricity
- Outer rings with extra close running accuracy (1/4 ABEC1) and marked to show high and low points of eccentricity
- Combinations of the above two features
- Rings and rollers with TDC coatings
- Outer ring with lubrication holes
- Outer rings with reduced diameter tolerance
- Outer rings with counter drilled lubrication hole
- Bearings inspected to meet specific quality requirements
- Lubrication holes and machined groove in the center of the OD
- Case hardening rings and rollers
- Tapped holes in the face of the inner and outer to facilitate lifting
- Plugging of oil holes
- Inner ring with reduced bore diameter tolerance
- Lubrication holes in Inner ring and lubrication grooves in face of retainer
- Various combinations of the options above!
