Cheque

ARN can accept cheques in either GB Sterling, US Dollars or Euro's so long as they are drawn against an internationally recognised bank. Due to potential postage delays between banks it may take up to 30 days for cheques to be presented and honoured. If we find cheques returned to ARN which are not honoured through incorrect format or insufficient funds. ARN reserves the right to charge administration costs and associated bank charges.

It should be noted that your bank might deduct a fee from your cheque payment for honouring a cheque that is presented by an international bank, i.e. ARN's bank. In much the same way as banks charge for wire transfers they will also charge for honouring cheques presented by an international bank. Because of this situation the same fees will apply for international cheques as they do for wire transfers. See the above table.

Letter of Credit (L/C)

Where required you can open an L/C with ARN Trading Limited t/a AHR International. This can provide security for both parties. You (the applicant) rely on the banking system to make sure all documentary proofs are present whilst the beneficiary (ARN) is assured that the order can be paid for. We have guidance notes on how you can set up an L/C with ARN, which can be made available freely upon request.

It should be noted that ARN tries to keep L/C's as simple as possible to avoid unnecessary amendment costs that would have to be covered by the company opening the L/C, i.e. you. Although AHR International stick rigidly to L/C conditions there are occasions where a degree of flexibility, i.e. allowing trans and partial shipments, allows for goods to move in the event of circumstances beyond all our controls, i.e. floods, freight loss, acts of god etc. More details can be found by using the link above.
